How do I list my service on Skills4Cause?
To list your service, create an account on Skills4Cause and fill out your Expert profile. You’ll be able to describe your service(s), set your availability, and choose the cause or charity you’d like to donate a portion of your earnings toward. Once you’re finished adding your service, it will be available for booking.
What types of services can I offer?
Experts can offer a wide range of services, including but not limited to professional consulting, creative services, wellness coaching, tutoring, and more. If you have a skill that could be valuable to others, it likely qualifies! For any questions about the services you'd like to offer, please reach out through our Contact Us form.
How do I get started as an Expert?
Getting started is simple: 1. Sign up and create your Expert profile 2. Choose the skill(s) or services you’d like to offer 3. Select the nonprofit or fundraising cause(s) you want to support, and customize your donation allocation for each 4. Set your availability and pricing 5. Start booking your first clients!
Can I offer more than one skill or service?
Yes! You can list multiple services as long as they align with your expertise, and you have the ability to fulfill them for your Customers. Each service will have its own description and availability—it is up to you to fulfill your requests, and manage your schedule.
Can I support more than one charity or cause?
Absolutely. You can choose to allocate your contributions to multiple charities or fundraising causes, ensuring your impact reaches the organizations you care about most.
Can I change my donation allocation later?
Yes, you can update your charity or cause allocation preferences at any time through your account settings.
How does payment work?
Customers pay for your services through the platform, and a portion (however much you’ve allocated) of the proceeds go directly to the nonprofit or cause you’ve chosen to support. The rest is transferred to your linked bank account via our payment partner, Stripe. Payment details, including processing fees and payout timelines, are available in your Expert dashboard.
How flexible are the hours for Experts?
Very flexible! You set your own availability and can adjust it whenever needed. You decide when and how often you want to offer your services.
For Customers
How does Skills4Cause verify charities and nonprofits?
We partner with reputable organizations and use a vetting process to ensure that listed nonprofits are legitimate and in good standing. We verify nonprofit status through official databases and ongoing due diligence.
How does Skills4Cause verify the fundraising causes on its website?
Each fundraising cause goes through a review process to ensure credibility. We require transparency about the purpose of the funds and may request documentation when necessary.
How do I know the funds will go to the charity I selected?
All donations are processed through secure payment systems, and charitable funds allocated by Experts are sent directly to the selected charity or cause. We do not release funds allocated to charities or causes to unverified entities.
Can I be an Expert and a Customer at the same time?
Yes! You can both offer your skills as an Expert and book services from others as a Customer—switch Profile types at any time by clicking the dropdown menu on the top-right icon in your user Dashboard.
What happens if an Expert cancels on me?
If an Expert cancels, you’ll receive a full refund, or you can choose to reschedule. Experts are encouraged to communicate cancellations in advance whenever possible.
How do I leave a review for an Expert?
After your booked session or service is complete, you’ll receive an email prompting you to leave a review. Your feedback helps maintain the quality of services on Skills4Cause.
What if there is a nonprofit I want to support, but I don’t see it listed?
You can submit a request for a new nonprofit to be added. We’ll review the request and, if the organization meets our criteria, we’ll add it to the platform. For any questions about the services you'd like to offer, please reach out through our Contact Us form.
Can I create a fundraising cause for something I care about?
Yes! If you have a cause you’d like to fundraise for, you can create a fundraiser and submit it for review. Once approved, others can offer their skills in support of your cause. Browse available causes, or submit your own, here: https://app.skills4cause.com/en/causes
